Show Manager Clark gave an update on the progress of the Region Six Show for 2008. The Quality Inn has been chosen as the host hotel and room rates will be $85.00 per night. The hotel will comp 7 rooms for the week for the staff. Clark is working on the schedule and hopes to include an exhibition by the local Mounted Shooters Club as part of the schedule. The SMAHA club will be hosting a Class A qualifying show in Rapid City on May 3 & 4, 2008.
Director McGuire brought forward the requirement for each Region to supply two door prizes at the National Convention in November. Claude Clark offered to contact Landstrom’s and Montana Silversmith for a donation.
AHA has been soliciting information from the Regional Directors in regards to utilization of a single credit card company for the Regional shows. Discussion ensued concerning the pros and cons of Region 6 taking on the expense of a credit card service.
There is a new club forming in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It is called the Black Hills Arabian Horse Assoc. The club has not applied to AHA to become an affiliated club at this point. Once applied and approved, they would like to be able to send a delegate to the National Convention.
Claude Clark reminded the group that Region 6 will be voting on Board of Director positions at the National Convention this year. He and Cindy Krause are on the nominating committee and will be making phone calls to all of the Region 6 clubs to solicit nominations for the different positions.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cheri Clark, Secretary
