Dick Peterson reported that two semi loads of bedding will be delivered June 12-14, Scott at Swiftel said not a problem for them to unload and store. The bad news is the price was not secured because of the rise in petroleum prices. $4.65 per bag was the quote now but possible increase depending on the fuel prices. We will have to pass this increase on to the exhibitors accordingly at the show. Prepaid bedding will have to be adjusted as well.
Cheri asked about the volunteer situation for comp rooms ... Officials and volunteers are staying at the Starolite Inn, and there are a block of rooms at the Fairfield until tomorrow, so far no one has called for rooms and Dactronics is wanting the rooms. Volunteers to date are: Lonnie Arp, Steve Hugus and daughter, Jean, and Stephanie Schroeder, Carlton Huit, and Dorothe Fisher.
There was discussion about changing the time for starting Dressage on Sunday and will be omitting the NOT BEFORE 1 PM. (START TIME-TBA). This will be sent out with the changes in class schedules to all exhibitors and corrected on the web site.
Cheri reported that one judge has confirmed airline tickets but the other two have not.
The contract for the Scorer was clearified for Darlene, that we have never paid the IRS mileage, and that she would be given mileage from her residence plus the $125/day as on the contract. Darlene also reported that she has not received the Manual for Scoring from AHA, Deb will call Duane at AHA tomorrow.
Motion was made by Deb McGuire and seconded by Val Stoffel to sponsor a Youth National Jacket for $300. Cheri is bringing some sweatshirts to sell to cover some of the cost, Deb guarantees to pay the difference if we didn't have the money.
Jeannie asked about the date conflict with Region 10. 2008 there is NOT a conflict but 2009, and 2010 there is. In trying to resolve this we are in search of the Quarter Horse Show sponsors that have the 4th week end in June. Darlene will get some information to Deb, Dick and Cheri.
Minutes prepared by: Deb McGuire
