Region 6 Conference Call
March 25, 2008
Conference Call Attendees: Deb McGuire, Heather Swanson, Jean Fredrich, Val & Greg Stoffel, Dick Peterson, Carlton Huitt, Cheri Clark, and Darlene LaBelle
Deb gave the Region 6 Treasurer's Report for Treasurer Bowden who was not able to be in attendance. She briefly reviewed the details of the 2008 budgeted line items and will submit a written review at the Region 6 meeting in Rapid City. The current balance in the Region 6 account is $15,462.00.
Carlton raised the question as to whether or not the money that he donated to the newly formed Arabian Trust had been sent to Region Six to be used for the Regional Competitive Trail and Endurance Ride as he had requested. Deb said she had understood that the money was to be used for four specific areas set up by the Trust. Carlton had been told differently by the Trust representative. Deb will check with a Trust rep. on the matter.
Deb explained that Region 6 would not be budgeting any amount for the P R Representative this year.
The Regional Scholarship Fund has increased to $5000.00 for 2008, bringing the Regional operating expenses to $13,900.00 for the current year. However, we had budgeted $1500.00 for the Regional CTR and Endurance Ride and no CTR has been scheduled at this time.
Mary Bowden has a used enclosed trailer (8' x 20') that she has offered for sale to the Region for $3000. No decision was made at this time.
Heather Swanson reviewed some of the class changes in the Regional schedule. Deb had some class change requests and she will e mail them to Heather for the Premium Book.
Cheri reviewed the progress of the show schedule with the addition of the working cow and cutting classes. The finishing touches are being put on the premium book and will be ready for the printer in a few days. It was decided that the Patron fee would be reduced to $300.00 this year and that no food tickets would be offered with the package. Several new barns had requested information on the show and have shown serious interest in attending.
